NMDOT Mill & Overlay on NM502 Starts Tuesday
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 2, NM502 (Main Hill Road) to Los Alamos will be closed weekdays and Saturdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. while the NMDOT conducts a milling and overlay pavement rehabilitation project. Work will occur from east of East Gate Drive to the Bayo Canyon access road. Access to the East Gate Industrial Park will be maintained from the townsite.
On Monday, Oct. 8, the roadway will be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Weather permitting, the project should be complete by Oct. 14. Motorists should use NM4/East Jemez Road truck route. Contact: Kenny Gallegos, NMDOT District 5 Area Maintenance Supervisor at (505) 660-7866.

Trinity & Oppenheimer 4-Way Stop Tuesday, Oct 2
Traffic crews will be replacing the traffic control cabinet at Trinity and Oppenheimer on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and be completed by 1 p.m. During the replacement, the intersection will be “dark” and will function as a 4-way stop until the new cabinet is energized. Expect minor delays.
Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1
Fifth Street between Myrtle and Canyon remains closed.
Work continues on Myrtle between 9th Street and 15th Street. This section of Myrtle is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.
Any remaining paving required on Canyon between Manhattan Loop east and Manhattan Loop west will be completed. Subgrade prep will continue between Manhattan Loop west and 9th Street.
Minor delays should be expected. All through traffic on the above streets must seek alternate routes.

Central Avenue & 9th Street (Associated with Municipal Building Construction)
The sidewalk on the north side of Central between 9th Street and Knecht Street will remain closed until further notice while construction on the new Municipal Building progresses.
NMDOT Concrete Work on Trinity
NMDOT will be suspending work on Trinity for the next two weeks. When they return the week of Oct. 15 they will finish up the eastbound lane, and then start on the westbound lane.
Emergency Exercise on Monday morning, Oct. 8 at the High School
Traffic on Diamond Drive between Orange/Sandia and Canyon may be congested from 8 a.m. to noon while the full-scale emergency exercise is in progress. Motorists will see numerous police and emergency response vehicles at or near the high school as part of the exercise, and are asked to slow down and use caution in this area.
