Upcoming Road Construction Update: Week of June 9

 N.M. 502 / Trinity Drive Storm Drain Improvements:

Through June 13, N.M. 502 / Trinity Drive will be closed between the Mari-Mac Shopping Center and DP Road, this detour will be in place through the end of the week.

• All eastbound N.M. 502 / Trinity Drive traffic will be able to access Trinity businesses and side streets up to the Mari-Mac Shopping Center entrance. N.M. 502 / Trinity will be closed immediately east of Mari-Mac Shopping Center entrance. Access to the Hilltop House Hotel site is available from Central Avenue.
• All westbound N.M. 502 / Trinity traffic will be detoured to Central, then 15^th Street and then back to Trinity.

Access to DP Road will be through 4^th Street and then west to DP Road. 

The established N.M. 502 / Trinity detour is purposely routed through the signalized intersections at Trinity and 15^th and at 15^th and Central to allow for the most efficient traffic flow.

Knecht Street will remain open; however, this route is not recommended for northbound access to Central Avenue. The lack of a signal at the north end of Knecht Street will very likely result in significant delays while waiting for a gap in traffic on Central Avenue.

The Central Avenue access to the Municipal Building will be closed; please use the Municipal Building driveways off Iris Street.

Please use extreme caution, watch for pedestrians, and slow down as you move through the detour area.

Western Area Improvements Phase 2:

Crews continue trenching across 45th Street off Trinity Drive and will be connecting water meters to the main pipe. The asphalt surfacing on this street will be removed Wednesday, June 11 to enable the connections on 46th Street. Contractor will begin trenching for the new water main. Contractor will also continue working on the sidewalk within the park area. 45^th and 46^th will be closed to through traffic; however, access to residences as well as services such as mail delivery, emergency services, trash and recycling collection will be maintained.

Survey Pavement Markings on Diamond:

Expect a short duration mobile work zone on Diamond between 35^th Street and the roundabout as survey crews document existing pavement markings in this area. Expect possible lane shifts and flagging operations. No delays are anticipated; however, please use caution as you move through the work zone.

Non-County Projects of Significance:

Smith’s Marketplace construction continues through opening day in mid-July 2014. Expect significant truck traffic and potential delays on NM502 and Trinity Drive.
