Road Construction Update for the week of June 6.
Note: the below information is based on a schedule provided by the contractors and may change due to weather or other delays.
Public Works Projects:
Canyon Rim Trail – The west leg of the Canyon Rim Trail is closed for construction. No traffic delays on DP Road or New Mexico 502 are anticipated.
Western Area Phase 4 – Western Technologies conducted pre-construction videotaping of the Western Area project on June 2, 2016. This work consisted of video recording the existing roadway, sidewalks, curbs, resident home exterior walls, landscaping, and retaining walls for pre-construction documentation for the County and the Contractor.
The project is anticipated to start mid-June. Residents in the immediate construction area will receive a door hanger 48 hours before work begins. The door hanger will provide important information and instructions about vehicle access and parking.

Longview Drive – New Waterline Installation. The Department of Public Utilities’ contractor will continue the installation of a new waterline on Longview Drive, between Village Place and the east side of Rover Boulevard in White Rock.
The goal is to improve the fire suppression capability of the system for the area. The west bound lane on Longview continues to be closed. A partial closure on Rover Boulevard at the Longview intersection may occur by mid-week as crews extend the new line across Rover. A flagging operation will alternate between north and south bound traffic. Some traffic delays are expected.
