Traffic & Streets Division:

Qualcon Builders, LLC – 120 DP Road Utility Infrastructure Replacement

Portions of DP Road will be temporarily detoured or restricted to flagged/signaled to one-lane traffic starting the week of Aug. 10, for approximately an 8-week duration and tentative end date of Oct. 12. One-lane traffic restrictions will occur only during business hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The portions of DP Road affected are between the edge of the 6th Street intersection with DP Road east to Fire Station #2 (132 DP Road). Contractor will be working in the right-of-way to replace existing utilities with upgraded services related to the new Canyon Walk Apartments (under construction) and The Bluffs senior housing (soon to be constructed). Milling and paving operations followed by a detour shift to the north side of DP Road can be expected with either electronic flagging or one-way access with flagger in place during the two month project. Parcel A-8-b Trench Work – south of Canyon Walk Apartments

For the next two weeks, N3B contractors are excavating a utility trench within the A-8-b land parcel that will be used to place utilities along DP Road to support the two housing projects. No traffic impacts directly affecting DP Road but motorists should watch for trucks and other construction traffic entering and exiting the parcel on the south side of DP Road throughout the work day Monday through Friday, as this area will become congested now that the larger DP project described above is getting underway, along with the changes to through traffic on Trinity Drive because of the N.M. 502 Roundabout Construction.

Vehicles and pedestrian traffic are urged to follow all traffic control devices and maintain a safe distance from the work zones listed above.
