NM4 Improvements Project
Starting Monday, traffic will be switched to one lane of traffic on each side of the road. Work will continue in the middle median area. Speed limit within the construction area is 30 mph. Expect modifications to the work zone as work progresses Please drive defensively and watch for construction vehicles. The contractor plans to work on Saturday and Sunday, June 30 and 31.
Pavement Preservation Program
The 2012 Pavement Rehabilitation Program will begin within the next week and last for five to six weeks. White Rock roads to be recycled and repaved include Kilby, Donna, Garver, Connie, Cheryl, Cheryl Ct., Canada Way, Barcelona, Rover from Carlsbad to Grand Canyon, Aragon west of Rover, Azure, and possibly Shirlane. In Los Alamos – Range Road and North Mesa Road from Hawk Drive to just east of the Posse Lodge. Residents will receive notice 48 hours in advance of work beginning in the immediate area. Traffic control will include lane closures and flagging operations, resulting in minor delays.
Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1
Canyon Rd between East Road (NM502) and the Myrtle Green continues to be closed to through traffic. Residential access to this area will be maintained; however, residents who park on Canyon Road are asked to park off-street or on a nearby side street. Residents can expect flagging operations on Canyon Rd during the day time, and two-way traffic at night. Minor delays may be experienced. Pedestrians must use the provided pedestrian detours. All through traffic must seek alternate routes.

RMCI is also working on 15th Street, requiring the closure of 15th Street between Trinity and Deacon, as well as reducing traffic between Deacon and Central to two lanes of traffic to allow for work on the west side of 15th Street. Pedestrians will be detoured around the construction area. Access to area businesses will be maintained. The 15th Street detour will be Knecht Street; other alternatives motorists may want to consider are 20th Street or Oppenheimer. Flagging operations on 15th near Deacon will continue to allow equipment to access the work area.
4th Street between Central and Canyon continues to be closed to through traffic. Residential access will be maintained.
The work on 15th Street is expected to be complete on or before July 28.
Iris Street Paving
The contractor should begin paving Iris on Monday, weather permitting. Work should conclude on Tuesday. During this time, Iris will be closed to all through traffic, with flagging operations in place for those residents who need access to homes on Iris. Expect minimal delays.

East Rd Gas Replacement & Reinforcement Project
Construction continues on south shoulder of East Rd NM502 starting just east of Airport Rd continuing west to Arroyo Lane. Construction will continue till the end of October.
Upper Pueblo Canyon Sewer Maintenance Road
The road is closed west of the Sewer Plant entrance until the second week in July. Please use the lower Pueblo Canyon Road as the alternate route.
Venado & El Conejo Sewer Line Replacement
This area of Barranca Mesa may have some traffic disruption from construction vehicle ingress and egress when the project begins next week. Construction will take place off street, however, portions of the street will be used for temporary day-time construction staging and equipment movement.
