Pavement Preservation – Fog Sealing on Barranca Mesa and North Community starts Aug. 28

Fog sealing operations will occur Tuesday and Wednesday on Chamisa, El Gancho, Andanada, Barranca Road from Chamisa to Barranca Road, Tunyo, Paseo Peñasco and El Corto. Expect lane closures and slight delays at intersections as the fog seal material dries.

On Wednesday and Thursday, fog sealing will occur on Canyon Glen and the asphalt pathway adjacent to Diamond Drive along the Golf Course from 35th Street to the tunnel. Flyers will be distributed 48 hours in advance of construction beginning in the various areas. Additional work will occur in the townsite and White Rock over the next three to four weeks.

Valley Gutter Replacement on Loma Linda

Expect a lane closure while a contractor replaces the concrete valley gutter near 2197 Loma Linda.

Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1
Fifth Street between Myrtle and Canyon is closed.

Work continues on Myrtle between 9th Street and 15th Street. This section of Myrtle is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

The work zone on Canyon Road is between NM502 to just south of Nugget. This section is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

Minor delays may be experienced. All through traffic on the above streets must seek alternate routes.

N.M. 4 Improvements Project

Expect intermittent traffic control as the contractor completes identified punch list items in order to reach final completion.

Please note, southbound motorists on Pajarito Road in the right lane can turn right (westbound onto N.M.4) or continue through the intersection onto Grand Canyon; traffic in the left lane must turn left onto eastbound NM4.

Central Avenue & 9th Street (Associated with Municipal Building Construction)

The sidewalk on the north side of Central from Knecht Street to 15th Street continues to be closed with anticipated reopening by the end of this week. The sidewalk on the north side of Central between 9th Street and Knecht Street will remain closed until further notice while construction on the new Municipal Building progresses.

West Road Closed Due to Potential Flooding

Due to safety concerns related to potential flash flooding in the canyon, LANL and the County have closed West Road until the monsoon season is over.

REDI-Net Fiber Optic Project

REDI Net Fiber Installation – As part of the new REDI Net initiative benefiting Northern NM and Los Alamos, crews will be performing fiber optic network construction activities in White Rock for the next two weeks.
