School Flasher Testing

The Public Works Traffic Division staff will be testing the school flashers throughout the community on Monday, Aug 13, and Tuesday, Aug 14, 2012 in preparation for the beginning of school on Wednesday, August 15, 2012.If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works Department.

Pavement Preservation Program

Crews will be working on Range Road starting Monday, August 13, then moving to North Mesa from Hawk Drive to just east of the Posse Lodge. Flyers will be distributed 48 hours in advance of work beginning in the immediate area. Once construction gets to your area, please ensure that all vehicles are parked off-street. Expect flagging operations, minor delays, and typical construction activity. Please note that progress may be slowed by rain or mechanical delays.

Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1
Eastern Area residents are encouraged to use 15th Street to access Central or NM502.

Work continues on Myrtle between 9th Street and 15th Street. This section of Myrtle is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.

The work zone on Canyon Road will be extended to between NM502 to just south of Nugget. This section is closed to through traffic; however, residential access will be maintained. Residents can expect flagging operations on Canyon Road during the day time, and two-way traffic at night. Minor delays may be experienced. All through traffic must seek alternate routes.

Intersection Closures at: 4th Street /Iris and 4th Street/Kiva. 

As part of the Eastern Area 2 Phase 1 Project, work will begin Monday, Aug 13, 2012 on new valley gutter construction at the intersections of 4th Street/Kiva and 4th Street/Iris, This temporary traffic restriction is necessary to facilitate roadway construction activities at both intersections.  The closures will last through Friday, Aug 17, 2012. Iris residents are asked to use 5th Street.

NM4 Improvements Project

Expect intermittent traffic control as the contractor completes identified punch list items in order to reach final completion.

Central Avenue & 9th Street (Associated with Municipal Building Construction)

It is anticipated that the sidewalk on the north side of Central from 9th Street to 15th Street will be closed starting Monday August 13th for two weeks while a sanitary sewer line is rerouted.  This will affect pedestrian access only, not vehicular traffic.  The sidewalk on the north side of Central between 9th Street and Knecht Street has been closed and will remain closed until further notice while construction on the new Municipal Building progresses.

Other:

West Road Closed Due to Potential Flooding

Due to safety concerns related to potential flash flooding in the canyon, LANL and the County have closed West Road until the monsoon season is over.
