Compass Rose Painting Completed On Runway At Los Alamos County Airport

Members of the Rio Grande Norte Chapter of the 99’s organization have completed their project of painting a compass rose on the runway of the Los Alamos County Airport. They explained that the compass is used by pilots to calibrate their aircrafts. This particular compass is 42 feet in diameter. The 99’s is an international organization of women aviators.
