Community Presentation on GATE Program Thursday

The Los Alamos School District will host a special community presentation for all interested parents and community members 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at the Los Alamos Middle School Gymnasium. 

At this event, Dr. Scott Peters will provide a presentation tailored for the district, following a day of consultation with the district GATE Advisory Committee and visits to district GATE programs. 

Peters will work with the committee to analyze district data as it relates to gifted program design and implementation. In his presentation, he will present possible models for providing advanced learning options to a wider range of students.

Peters is an assistant professor of educational foundations at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, where he teaches courses related to measurement and assessment, research methodology and gifted education.

He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University, specializing in gifted and talented education with secondary areas in applied research methodology and English education.
