COUNTY News:

The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of construction on the 20th Street Extension Project.

Los Alamos County will host the celebration at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at this newest portion of 20th Street south of Trinity Drive.

“We are extremely excited to complete this project and look forward to future economic development projects” Public Works Director Philo Shelton said.

Improvements include all major utilities for future service, a paved roadway with curb and gutter, sidewalks, a multi-use trail for future connection to the Canyon Rim Trail, irrigated landscape and street lighting.

The project was designed by Public Works and Utilities Engineering staff and constructed by Gandy Dancer Construction of Albuquerque.
