Community Invited To Grand Re-Opening Of White Rock Municipal Complex 3 p.m. Thursday

The County of Los Alamos celebrates the grand re-opening of the White Rock Municipal Complex with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3 p.m., Thursday.
 
The community is invited to come revel in one of White Rock’s finest assets now improved with several upgrades made over the past 10 months to be unveiled at this celebration. An open house and ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 3 p.m., in the courtyard of the Municipal Complex at 133 Longview Dr. Refreshments will be provided.
 
“We are extremely excited to open up this beautiful expansion,” County Project Manager Anthony Strain said.
 
The improvements to the Center include:
  • New interior floor plans and finishes;
  • New utilities and mechanical/electrical equipment;
  • New ADA restrooms;
  • Window and doors;
  • Improved grading and drainage;
  • Fresh landscaping;
  • New commercial kitchen; and
  • 1,200 more square feet of new space.

The exterior has been refurbished with new tuck pointed masonry and fresh colors.

Construction began in April 2016 to expand the facility to meet the growing needs of the local seniors. With more than a dozen programs including exercising, yoga and informational classes the center required substantial upgrades in order to continue serving the community.
