Ask, Be Present, Connect – ABC Suicide Prevention Partner Class is a 60 minute course that addresses how to prevent suicide. The next course will be held noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, in the Mesa Public Library’s upstairs meeting room.
The course will cover the common causes of suicidal behavior, the warning signs of suicide, and how to connect a person in crisis to help.
The collective community goal is to train as many partners as possible. This class is free and open to the public. Participants can make a difference by learning how to strengthen community connections and reach out to people who are struggling.
Participants will receive a one-year certificate and a free cable gun lock upon completion. Facilitated by certified instructor Kristine Coblentz, the class lasts for one hour with time for questions and discussion afterward.
