The community is invited to see a demonstration of amateur radios in action from noon to noon Sunday at the North Mesa Picnic Grounds off North Mesa Road. The Los Alamos Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the National Amateur Radio Field Day 24-hour emergency preparedness exercise. The radio operators will use generator, solar and battery power equipment to make radio contacts. They will demonstrate radio amateurs’ skills and readiness in providing self-supporting communications when infrastructure is not available.
