Community Input Sought As Development Of School Calendar For Next Three Years Is About To Begin

LAPS News:

It seems that this year’s Aug. 13 back to school start date is earlier than ever.

However, over the last several years, Pam Miller has worked with the Los Alamos Public Schools Board to set the school calendar for the district. Miller explains that over the last six years, LAPS has started its new year early. One reason for the early start is so that Los Alamos High School can complete the first semester by the Winter Holiday.

“We always coordinate with the Lab’s calendar and holidays,” Superintendent Kurt Steinhaus said.

Development of the school calendar for the next three years is about to begin.

“We are open to any suggestions and we will seek input from the community,” he said.

To provide input, contact Pam Miller at 505.663.2229 or p.miller@laschools.net.
