Users will need to install free software: for audiobooks, OverDrive Media Console; for eBooks, Adobe Digital Editions.Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Kindle, Sony® Reader™, and many others. Some audio titles can also be burned to CD to listen on-the-go.

Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!

Gwen Kalavaza, Electronic Services Manager, is enthusiastic about the new service: “Though we have had some downloadable materials for several years, this newly expanded service is easier to use, has access to best-selling eBook fiction titles, a broader selection of audiobooks, and is more mobile friendly-all things our patrons have requested!  And, to make it even easier, the library staff will be offering one-on-one How To Clinics two to three times per week so patrons can bring in their devices or find out how to get started using the downloadable service to best advantage. It all starts on May 7 when the service goes live.”

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for patrons with their library card. To get started downloading audiobooks, eBooks, and more, visit http://lacnm.lib.overdrive.com starting May 7.
