Col. Michael J. Power Takes Command Of 377th Air Base Wing In Ceremony Today At Kirtland AFB In Albuquerque

KIRTLAND AFB News:

KIRTLAND AFB – Col. Michael J. Power will take command of the 377th Air Base Wing in a ceremony today at Kirtland Air Force Base (AFB).

Power will take the guidon from Col. Jason Vattioni, who has commanded the wing since his arrival in June of 2021.

Power comes to Kirtland from his post at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, where he served as the commander, 90th Maintenance Group.

As a career Munitions and Missile Maintenance Officer, Col. Power has served in a variety of leadership positions in Intercontinental Ballistic Missile maintenance, conventional and nuclear munitions maintenance, intermediate-level aircraft maintenance, and program management, primarily at the squadron, depot and headquarters levels.

About the 377th Air Base Wing:

The 377th Air Base Wing is the host organization at Kirtland Air Force Base. The Wing hosts 108 mission partners from five MAJCOMs, nine wings, four military branches, Department of Defense agencies, and the Department of Energy, employing more than 24,000 national security professionals. The primary mission of the ABW’s “Fighting Tigers” is to provide logistics, maintenance support, test operations and security for nuclear operations. The Wing also delivers critical installation support to the myriad mission partners at Kirtland AFB.
