Clothes and Shoes Needed For Aaron’s Kids Closet

COMMUNITY News:

Aaron’s Kids was started as a ministry for the youth in the Los Alamos community as an outreach of the First United Methodist Church-Los Alamos, when the need was identified to provide lunches to the mid high and high school youth.

The need goes further; there is a need for clothing and shoes as well. The Aaron’s Kids Closet – Free Store will be opening its doors to serve community youth in providing gently used elementary, mid-high and high school clothing and shoes as well as backpacks and lunch boxes.

In a nut shell – what is needed:

  • Getting the word out to those in need of this ministry;
  • Gently used clothing and shoes for elementary, mid-high and high-school aged children;
  • Backpacks and lunch boxes; and
  • Monetary donations for under-garments.

The hope is to begin collecting donations now and opening Aaron’s Kids Closet 1-4 p.m., the second and fourth Saturdays of each month beginning Saturday, March 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Los Alamos.

So when you are cleaning out those closets and drawers, keep Aaron’s Kids Closet in mind and bring your gently used items to the First United Methodist Church in Los Alamos and share the love of Christ with others.

The First United Methodist Church is at 715 Diamond Dr., behind the Lemon Lot, next to Sullivan Field and across from Los Alamos High School. To volunteer time, donate clothing or shoes or financially contribute to this youth ministry, call 505.662.6277 or 505.660.0340.
