COMMUNITY News:

Games, gospel and great people welcome community families to the Christian Church’s first Pet Palooza. The three nights of family fun begin at 6 p.m., June 20 in the parking lot of the Christian Church at 95 East Road in Los Alamos.

While family pets must remain at home for safety, stuffed pets are welcome to join the petting zoo or travel with their owners throughout the evening. Associate Pastor of Children and Youth, Steve Bublitz is the driving force behind the community gathering meant to welcome all community members into the family friendly event, which will offer games, food and a chance to get to know one’s neighbors all in the name of love.

“The distinctive about the Christian church is that it has no distinctive,” Bublitz said.” In fact we deliberately seek not to be different, because our goal is unity, not division.”

The whole family is invited to share the love of pets, learn the history of pets in Los Alamos and hear stories from Head Pastor and “master story teller, Doug Partin. Rumor has it that Pastor Partin also will answer the long asked question, “Will my pet go to Heaven?”

According to Bublitz, “Puppy Chex Mix” snacks, including gluten and nut free varieties, will be served in Scoop-It Pet bowls for the first 150 people. There will be drawings for prizes from Metzgers’ and CB Fox and free animal balloons with youth allowed to make specific requests.

“After registering at and then passing through our passport entrance, families can learn to communicate and cooperatively play through imaginary play for preschoolers or competitive games for elementary children and crafts,” Bublitz said. “We will also have community participants to answer your questions about pets and the services they provide, like DogHouse Phd. and Let Birds Fly.”

On Thursday evening, a special musical titled, “All In” by the SALTeens will be in the church sanctuary. The SALTeens are part of the Dallas Christian College with Los Alamos’ very own Lauren Partin a member for their 2017 season.

Additional love will be offered as the neighboring churches, of the New Beginnings Fellowship and Crossroads Bible Church will host some additional parking in their lots.

Pastor Bublitz can be heard on KRSN AM 1490 Monday on the morning show to offer more insights. For more information, visit the church website at www.lachristian.org or call 505.662.6468.
