Los Alamos County Police Chief Dino Sgambellone presented his budgets to Council this evening. He has reduced the Police Department’s FY2015 proposed budget by 2 percent from the 2014 Adopted Budget of $7,208,239 to $7,078,355. His FY2016 projected budget is $7,314,197.
Sgambellone briefed Council on the significant changes and impacts in his department and commended his staff and officers saying change is never easy and they have risen to the occasion since Chief Wayne Tory retired and he came on board from Ohio last December.
Crime in Los Alamos continues to trend downward, he said, adding that his department is increasing community involvement, enhancing transparency, improving internal operations and increasing programming.
