Residents of the County have made requests for the Council to consider an amendment to the Code of Ordinances to allow the keeping of a small number of chickens in all residential districts.

The proposed chicken ordinance public hearing on this issue has been resheduled for the County Council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave.

The County’s open forum has closed for this topic as of Nov. 14 (the originally scheduled public hearing date, which was tabled due to time constraints); however, open forum comments can still be viewed here.
