Chan, Gattiker Tie For Top Predictor In Pace Race

Allison Chan and Katie Gattiker were 16 seconds off their predicted time in the weekly pace race held on the Power line Trail off N.M. 4 in the White Rock area. 

Other accurate predictors were Roxana Candia and Jesse Woodroffe with a 20 second differential. Candia also was the best female finisher on the the 3 mile course with a time of 23:20. Laura Woodroffe and Zach Medin also had accurate predictions at 21 seconds off.

Becky Chamberlin was the top finisher on the 1 mile course recording a 9:59 and Brian Newnam was the first male finisher at 10:50. On the 3 mile course Ryan Smeltzer finished first with a time of 21:40.

Next week’s race is the final one of the season and is at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, on the Canyon Rim Trail beginning at the trailhead off East Road (N.M. 502) across the road from the Cooperative Market. 1, 1.5 and 2.6 mile paved distances will be available.
