The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the new business UPEX & Gifts, LLC store with a ribbon cutting 4 p.m. Jan. 20 at 108 Central Park Square.
Yasmin and Eliverio Acosta have purchased the UPEX Store from Melanie & Ernest Bennett. Yasmin Acosta has been a long-time employee of Bennett’s Fine Jewelry and UPEX.
They will be opening UPEX & Gifts, LLC in both the current UPEX space and the space next door that was previously Bennett’s Fine Jewelry.
The gift shop portion of UPEX & Gifts and will be opening in early February and continue to offer watch battery services, as well as other gifts. The T-Mobile kiosk will continue to be a part of UPEX & Gifts.
“We are delighted to be opening a new family-owned business in Los Alamos,” Yasmin Acosta said. “We look forward to continuing to offer the great service the community has come to expect at UPEX and expanding the offerings through UPEX & Gifts!”
To celebrate the event, the first 25 attendees at the Jan. 20 ribbon cutting will receive a gift bag.
