CHAMBER News:

The Chamber of Commerce held a Business Breakfast Thursday, July 18 with QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Institute programming from Bernadette Lauritzen at SALA Event Center.

Lauritzen taught a 1-hour seminar about the importance of recognizing the signs of mental health struggles when interacting with coworkers, friends, family members and others around you. She emphasized how being prepared and willing to ask how a person is doing is often the most important part of supporting them.

“I feel we need to teach everyone about signs to look for if someone might be struggling, stress and anxiety affect everyone,” said Lauritzen, who is executive director of Champions of Youth Ambitions (C’YA). “We also need to discover what we do to refill the well inside, listening to music, baking, doodling, running, movies, gaming, volunteering. Discover what gives you a boost.”

To contact Lauritzen or to schedule her QPR Program, email her at cya.org@att.net.
