Holiday shopping, check. Gifts wrapped, check. Cards sent, check. Travels planned, check. With so much going on in December to prepare for the holidays, it seems we can easily forget to make time to slow down and enjoy the world around us.

For that reason, the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is promoting “31 Days of Exploring Nature” on the PEEC Facebook page.

Starting Dec. 1 and continuing through the end of the month, PEEC is offering suggestions for exploring and enjoying nature. These include ideas from starting a nature journal or going on a photo safari, to snowshoeing, even suggestions for winter stargazing.

If you’re not one for braving the cold and wet weather, not to worry! Many of the activities suggested are ways to explore nature from within the warmth of your home or at the PEEC Nature Center.

Check out PEEC’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PajaritoEEC, and “like” the page to receive these daily notifications on your news feed. You can still view PEEC’s Facebook page to view these daily suggestions if you are not a member of Facebook.

If anyone has other ideas of how we can all explore nature during this hectic holiday season, PEEC encourages you to post your suggestions on their Facebook page from which other users can learn.
