Los Alamos County Community and Economic Development Department Director Anne Laurent has accepted a position in Park City, Utah.

“My last day (with the County) is two weeks from today,” Laurent told the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning. “I’m sad but at the same time excited.”

She will conduct similar work in her role as Community Development Director in Park City. Laurent explained that her husband Steve has friends in Park City and when the position came open, it was a great opportunity for them both. While she will be leaving for her new job shortly after Oct. 9, Steve and their two children will remain in Los Alamos until the December school break.

Laurent is a LEED certified, licensed architect. She has worked at the County for seven years, primarily in charge of capital projects.

“I am going to miss all my good coworkers and all the good work the County is doing … this is an exciting time for Los Alamos with the Ski Hill and the Manhattan Project National Historical Park and other projects and I’m going to keep a close eye on the progress,” she said. “I have a lot of pride in what has been accomplished and I want to thank the Los Alamos community.”
