CATHOLIC CHARITIES News:
Catholic Charities has announced the appointment of Natasha Gacinski as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of current CEO, Dolores Nunez.
Gacinski brings extensive experience and a passion for community service that aligns perfectly with the mission and vision of Catholic Charities, which is to honor human dignity while serving the needs of people of all beliefs and backgrounds as they overcome poverty and achieve stability.
Gacinski, born and raised in New York, completed her undergraduate studies in Boston, Mass. She relocated to New Mexico seven years ago for her graduate education, earning a Master of Science in Special Education & Applied Behavior Analysis. Gacinski served as a program resource, helping to establish pre-k programs and while serving as a resource to early childhood educational centers through the State of New Mexico’s ECECD program. Most recently, she was the Chief Operating Officer at a local nonprofit, overseeing large grants, operations, and a significant team, focused on helping homeless children and families.
In 2023, Gacinski published her first textbook on the foundations of early childhood education, underscoring her commitment to this critical field. Her dedication to advocating for children and families is a perfect match for Catholic Charities.
“I am thrilled to join such a well-established and accomplished team at Catholic Charities,” Gacinski said. “I look forward to supporting and advancing the vital initiatives of this organization, spreading kindness, and making a significant positive impact in our community.”
Outside of her professional achievements, Gacinski is a devoted mother to two children, Milo, 7, and Lucia, 4. She enjoys exploring national parks and the beautiful state of New Mexico with her family.
Gacinski will begin in her new role Aug. 5. Nunez will remain in place until the end of August, to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
