The Los Alamos Fire Department will be closing a portion of the Canyon Rim Trail near Fire Station #6 in order for crews to complete fuels reduction (tree thinning) activities on the following three weekends, weather permitting:
- April 2, 3;
- April 16, 17; and
- April 30 and May 1.
Activities will extend approximately ¼ mile along the west end of the trail. LAFD is coordinating signage and trail closure with Open Space & Trails Specialist Eric Peterson. The trail will remain open on the east end (at the trailhead, across from Entrada Business Park.)
Trail users are asked to use caution and observe closure signs for their own safety.
Alternate dates for thinning activities to occur if needed will be April 5, 12 and 14.
