The Hilltoppers Hockey Team enters the mid-season tournament this week sitting 3rd in league play.

The Toppers play four games as part of the event beginning 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 in Los Alamos against one of the most interesting opponents seen at the Los Alamos Ice Rink – the Saints of St. Thomas Aquinas of Kenora, ONT, Canada.

The story from their hometown paper in Canada paints a good picture of how the team has come to visit New Mexico.

Los Alamos is certainly excited to host them … 1,500 miles to play hockey and ski!

The remainder of Topper team play is in Taos, Jan. 4-6.

  • Friday: 7 p.m. Los Alamos vs La Cueva
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. Cibola vs Los Alamos
  • Sunday: 8:30 a.m. Coronado vs Los Alamos
The Canadian team will see more play against top-tier teams and composites of the top lines of these teams. It will all be a good show and the community is invited to come out and see some good hockey.
