Camp May Campground Closes For 2023-24 Winter Season

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division closed Camp May campground and day use area for the winter season on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023. Gate access to the campground is closed and locked. The campground will reopen May 1, 2024, depending on weather conditions next spring.

Camp May is a popular campground for locals and visitors, due to its proximity to the Los Alamos townsite, Forest Service trails, and Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. The warmer than usual fall season allowed the campground and day use area to remain open for an additional month.

During the winter months, the campground is closed for safety and maintenance reasons.
