Wreaths Across America Event At Santa Fe National Cemetery Saturday Morning

Los Alamos National Laboratory employee volunteers, their families and friends are invited to place wreaths at grave markers at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, as part of the Wreaths Across America initiative.

Employees, in partnership with Los Alamos National Security LLC, Centerra-LA (the Lab’s protective force contractor), Berardinelli Funeral Home, the International Guard Union of America Local 69, and Los Alamos National Bank raised $11,500 to sponsor 1,150 wreaths of remembrance for the ceremony. This Christmas 1979 photo commentates the Fox Family’s first Holiday Season as the then new owners of what was later to be renamed CB FOX, but which on that Noel still bore the predecessor’s name as it appears on the sign, Clement & Benner.
 
The CB FOX building was originally built by the AEC in the early 1950’s to house a movie theater, and to either side of the movie house were a beauty salon, barber shop, florist and a combination Western Union office/photography business.
