Equipped with her laptop and camera, award-winning journalist Carol A. Clark launched the Los Alamos Daily Post at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 from her home in White Rock.

Start-up team members Bonnie Gordon and Greg and Karen Kendall worked with Clark to build and populate the news site for weeks leading up to the launch. The Kendall’s and Gordon had day jobs, so the group gathered many long nights and weekends to get it all done.

A record nine Northern New Mexico Native American-–owned and –operated businesses have received a total of more than $50,000 in the 2018 grants from the Native American Venture Acceleration Fund.
 
The fund was created by Los Alamos National Laboratory operator Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS) and the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) to help the recipients create jobs, increase their revenue base and diversify the area economy.

2017 Another Record Setting Year For New Mexico’s Housing Market

A total of 22,221 sales were reported to the REALTORS Association of New Mexico (RANM) during 2017.
 
This is a more than 11 percent increase over the reported 19,933 sales for 2016 and is the highest number of reported sales since RANM started compiling statistics in 2008.
 
The reported 2017 median price of $190,000 also is higher than the medians reported since 2008. Median price indicates half the properties sold for more and half for less.

BLM Oil And Gas Lease Sales Generate $360 Million In 2017

BLM News:

WASHINGTON, D.C.

 In advancing the administration’s goals of promoting America’s energy independence, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) state offices in 2017 generated nearly $360 million from oil and gas lease sales, an 86 percent increase over the previous year’s results of $192.5 million. 

Among these sales, which together were the highest in nearly a decade, rights to a total of 949 parcels, covering 792,823 acres, were sold.
