LACD News:

The Los Alamos Creative District today announced the upcoming installation of a new loaned sculpture scheduled for delivery Monday, Nov. 10.

The bronze sculpture is on loan from Shidoni Foundry and Galleries in Tesuque. The artwork titled “Wally with Bench” features an elderly man sitting on a bench.

The Creative District infrastructure subcommittee oversaw the process of finding the art, securing the funding and locating placement for the statue. The committee worked closely with Philip Kunsberg, owner of Central Park Square and a Creative District advisory committee member. Kunsberg offered to provide space on his property and generously paid for the installation.

The stature will be placed on Main Street near the roundabout. It will be delivered and installed at 11 a.m. Monday.

The Los Alamos Creative District is a designation of the New Mexico Arts and Cultural Districts. The Creative District focuses on sharing the unique creative heritage of Los Alamos with residents and visitors by curating and providing local cultural programming.
