Breaking News: Wreck Shuts Down N.M. 4

LAPD News:

A commercial vehicle crashed this morning on N.M. 4 a mile or two past the hairpin turn going west and nearing the Sandoval County line at mile markers 47-48.

Los Alamos Police Commander Preston Ballew told the Los Alamos Daily Post moments ago that N.M. 4 is now shut down along that stretch in both directions until further notice.

The condition of the driver involved in this single commercial vehicle accident is unknown at this time, Ballew said, adding that the Los Alamos Police Department, Los Alamos Fire Department, Sandoval County Sheriff’s Department, Bandelier and New Mexico Motor Transportation Department have responded to the scene.

Because the accident involves a commercial vehicle, Ballew said the New Mexico Motor Transportation Department will assume the investigation into the cause.
