Purgatory Resort News:
This weekend in Durango, the Big Mountain Enduro (BME) returns to Purgatory Resort.
As the premier Enduro tour in North America, the race series is known for hosting the top mountain bikers from across the globe on the country’s biggest and most challenging mountain bike terrain.
Enduro racing combines aerobic, cross country fitness with grueling climbs and white-knuckled downhill racing. This weekend at Purgatory racers can expect two big days of racing, a mix of backcountry and lift-accessed stages, high-altitude trails, and big descents.
The event is capped at 400 riders but spectators are invited to enjoy the festivities this weekend at Purgatory. Official practice will take place Thursday and Friday, with racing action Saturday and Sunday.
Located just 25 miles north of Durango, Purgatory’s Bike Park offers podium-quality terrain for riders of all skill levels. The Bike Park serves as a gateway to more than 400 miles of high alpine singletrack and backcountry trails in the San Juan Mountains.
