The Los Alamos Daily Post has received information that two scams are making the rounds this holiday season. One involved a phone caller claiming to need credit card information to deliver a “medical alert kit.”
The other involved a uniformed delivery man with a basket of flowers and wine. The man required a credit card to process a small fee he said was involved with delivery of alcohol with a portable credit card machine. Later, the recipients of the “gift” discovered charges to their card they had not made.
Beware of providing credit card information to unknown persons, either by phone or in person, as well as over the Internet … it’s likely a scam.
