Los Alamos
In less than a year we had two deer killed and either dying in our front yard or in the neighbors’ side yard. Both were struck by vehicles on Canyon Road by the Green Zone in Los Alamos.
Why is it people continue to speed down Canyon Road when the posted speed limit is 25 miles per hour?
Why is it the police cannot patrol this section of Canyon Road where the deer cross from the forest area to the north to graze on the Green Zone?
Why are millions of dollars spent on the sidewalk further west on Canyon Road, yet the warning light on Canyon and Manhattan cannot be repaired?
Maybe if some of these speeders had to witness one of these beautiful animals gasping for air as they lay dying they would then slow down.
