POLITICAL News:
Nambé – U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) this morning announced his campaign for the United States Senate:
“Tom Udall is a champion for New Mexico and has always put our people first. New Mexico needs another champion in the U.S. Senate – someone who has a proven record of fighting to lower health care costs, protecting our environment, connecting communities large and small with the resources needed to thrive, and upholding our New Mexico values. It has been the honor of my life to represent New Mexico in the U.S. House and I am humbled by the opportunity to further serve our state in the United States Senate.
“I was born and raised in New Mexico, on the small Nambé farm I still call home. My mother – retired after 33 years with the local public school district – and my late father – a union ironworker and state representative – instilled in me the importance of hard work, the idea that no job is too big or too small, and a love for New Mexico that guides me every day.
“In the coming weeks, I’ll formally kick-off this campaign by visiting communities throughout our beautiful state to hear directly from you. But until then, I need you on my team because when we work together, we win together!”
Congressman Luján announced his campaign in a video message to supporters.
Luján has represented New Mexico’s 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2008. Previously, he was Chairman of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and served in the New Mexico Cultural Affairs Department. He was born and raised in Nambé.
