BELC News:
Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church (BELC) will host a week-long Day Camp for youth, Monday, July 28 to Friday, Aug. 1.
Designed for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade (in the fall), this camp is “a joyful and faith-filled experience”.
Youth entering 6th grade are invited to participate as junior counselors.
This year’s camp theme is “Cross Fit” – a fun play on fitness culture, with a spiritual twist.
Campers will explore Christian principles like commitment, community, overcoming plateaus, and transformation, all rooted in Scripture.
Camp Schedule & Cost:
- 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
- Friday Celebration: 9-10:30 a.m. Families are invited to join for breakfast burritos.
- Cost: $50 for the first child; $25 for each additional sibling. Cost includes all supplies and daily snacks. Campers should bring a sack lunch Monday through Thursday.
Bethlehem partners with Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp (Colorado-based) to make this camp possible.
What Happens at Day Camp?
Campers enjoy a variety of activities, including:
- Bible study and worship
- Arts and crafts
- Singing and games
- Fellowship and nature exploration
- Theme days: Water Day, Silly Olympics, and Science Day
- Location: Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road, next to Mountain Elementary School
- Some activities may take place off-site at nearby parks.
Who Leads the Camp?
A team of trained Rainbow Trail counselors and volunteers from the congregation leads the program. All counselors are Christian young adults (aged 19 and older) trained in faith development, recreation, first aid, and leadership, under the supervision of an experienced director.
Who Can Attend?
- Day Camp is open to all youth entering Pre-K (age 4) through 5th grade.
- 6th graders may register as junior counselors.
- No church membership is required.
- Scholarships are available for families with financial need.
