FSN News:

Kids don’t come with how-to manuals. Relationships and expectations change as kids get older. Families have unique goals and challenges. These are just some of the reasons hundreds of parents have taken the class, Becoming a Love & Logic Parent®, for parents of grade school children at Family Strengths Network (FSN).

Beginning this week, parents have another opportunity to enjoy instructor Susan Benjamin’s humor and skill as she talks with parents about specific answers to common childrearing challenges. Classes are 6:15-8:15 p.m. Thursdays, March 6-April 3 at FSN, 1900 Diamond Dr. (Pueblo Complex). Register online at or call 505.662.4515.

One participant explained the reason she took time from her busy schedule to take the class. “The tools and positive parenting attitude I get from FSN classes allow me to be the best parent I can be. The time and money necessary to attend a class is miniscule compared to that.”

FSN is pleased to be able to offer this session of Love & Logic for free, thanks to a grant from Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB). In addition, free on-site childcare is provided. Parents must request childcare one week in advance.

Susan Benjamin, a Los Alamos and New Mexico State Teacher of the Year, is a nationally sought-after speaker. She taught in the Los Alamos Public Schools for 30 years and has a Master of Arts in Child Psychology. Her classes are engaging, informative and fun.

FSN is a United Way Community Partner.
