At about 1 p.m. Monday, Los Alamos residents Rod and Cas Masonwe saw this brown bear climbing down a tree near the instrumented deck near the start of upper water canyon. The bear had a small cub with it climbing on an adjacent tree, that was discovered by their dogs. Courtesy/Rod and Cas Mason
