A Public Firewalk is taking place at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Toolshed in Dixon. The cost is $125.

Firewalking teaches a profound lesson about the power of the mind, and the effect that our thoughts and beliefs have on our experience of reality, organizers said. It is a practical way of confirming our instincts and validating our intuition.

Firewalking provides an unforgettable visual image to accompany our thoughts and beliefs. It shows us the vastness of human potential. And most importantly, it helps us to shift the energy of fear.

The evening is a three to four hour workshop in which the group will explore personal obstacles, fears, goals and empowerment. You will be given all the guidance necessary should you choose to walk the fire at the end of the evening. This event is open to all with an interest in attending. You are not required to walk the coals to participate.

Instructor Stephanie Foy is a certified empowerment teacher and firewalk instructor through Sundoor. She has walked on fire well over 600 times.

“I believe in the power of fire, in deconstructing limiting beliefs, and in the healing aspects of community,” Foy said. “I teach firewalking workshops, offer private firewalk ceremonies, rites of passage through firewalk, group retreats and team building.”
