‘Basic Genealogy Checklist’ Talk April 30

As part of the Genealogy Lecture Series at Santa Fe Main Library, Henrietta Martinez Christmas and Paul Rhetts will talk about their new book, The Basic Genealogy Checklist. They will talk about all the tools and resources available to anyone exploring their family genealogy.

 
The book explains everything from libraries, cemeteries, census forms, family bibles, enlistment forms, and newspapers, to Ancestry.com and the Mormon Church. Henrietta Christmas has a special expertise in Hispanic genealogy and is the current President of the New Mexico Genealogical Society. Both Christmas and Rhetts have done books on genealogy. Rhetts is the co-owner of the largest, independent book publishing company in New Mexico. Their new book will be available after the talk.
 
Authors Henrietta Christmas and Paul Rhetts present their book, The Basic Genealogy Checklist, to share tips and tactics to help researchers of all experience levels find:
  • Who your ancestors really were;
  • Where your ancestors came from;
  • How they got to this country;
  • The truth about your “family stories”; and
  • What is fact and what is myth in your family’s past.
