Bandelier National Monument has announced that Frijoles Canyon will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1.
Bandelier had planned to have Frijoles Canyon open Thursday, but with the storm forecast for Wednesday night into Thursday, and no staff available to clear roads and trails, for visitor safety the canyon will be CLOSED Thursday.
There may be a delayed opening for Frijoles Canyon Friday if additional heavy snow occurs over night.
