SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General has secured a guilty plea from Donn Wiese, former CEO of San Ildefonso Services LLC.
Wiese embezzled $20,545 in grant money that was awarded to San Ildefonso Services, which is owned by Pueblo of San Ildefonso.
“My office is committed to protecting Native American populations throughout New Mexico,” Attorney General Hector Balderas said. “Our special agents and prosecutors worked tirelessly to bring Mr. Wiese to justice, and return valuable resources to San Idelfonso Services.”
As part of his plea, Wiese pled guilty to one count of Larceny (Over $20,000,) a second degree felony; and one count of Tampering With Evidence, a fourth degree felony. Sentencing is set for next month. Weise could face more than a decade behind bars.
