Kiwanian First Vice President/Event Chair Karen Kendall welcomes nearly 100 people to Saturday night’s “Autumn in Provence” wine dinner fundraiser at the Dixie Girl Restaurant in downtown Los Alamos. The Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos hosted the event, which raised $5,700, including $1,000 scholarship donation by Kurt Steinhaus on behalf of LANS, LLC and Director Charlie McMillan of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Kiwanis is the local service club with a focus on youth projects. Founded in January 1948, Kiwanis is the oldest service organization in Los Alamos. Local members take seriously the Kiwanis International Vision: “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.” Photo by Carol A.
