ALEXANDRIA, VA  Several candidates for president spoke last week at the the National Sheriffs’ Association’s (NSA) 75th Anniversary Conference and Presidential Forum in Baltimore, Md. 
 
NSA members voted in the first-ever straw poll, giving top support to Mike Huckabee, Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton and Ben Carson.

Paco is a 5-year-old neutered male cattle dog/bulldog cross with a red-blonde coat.
 
He is very friendly with adults. He might also be okay with older children who will not try to restrain him or to pet him when he does not want contact. Paco does not want to be grabbed by the collar while he is harnessed for a walk, but once harnessed, he really enjoys his walks. He wants his food bowl to be left alone. No dogs, please. He has never been with cats, so caution is advised.

Sections of the new Supplemental Ventilation System (SVS) arrived this week at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Carlsbad.
 
The SVS is designed to increase the total amount of air supplied to the underground. The fan assembly underwent factory acceptance testing last week and arrived at the WIPP facility early this week. The fan and associated equipment will be transported to the WIPP underground in four pieces where it will be assembled

The New Mexico Jazz Workshop is sponsoring a trip to the land of Rumba, Ritmo and Rum with the theme “Havana, Then and Now.”
