County Snow Removal Plan And Request For Patience; Help With Snow Clearing Activities

Following last night’s major snowstorm and as snow continues today, the County’s Public Works Director Philo Shelton asked for the community to continue to be patient with snow-clearing crews.

County Traffic Alert: Major Snowfall Overnight Severely Impacts Roads … DO NOT Attempt Travel This Morning!

COUNTY TRAFFIC ALERT:

Major snowfall overnight has severely impacted roads within the County.

Crews are responding but the amount of snow to clear will take extra time even for main roadways.

Camp May Road to Pajarito Mountain is NOT OPEN at this time. Crews are coordinating with the ski hill staff on their opening time today and will update residents.

County officials are urging residents to be patient and DO NOT attempt travel this morning give road crews a chance to clear the roads. Read More

TUCSON, Ariz. — At 2:43 p.m. EST, Monday Dec. 31, while many on Earth prepared to welcome the New Year, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, 70 million miles (110 million kilometers) away, carried out a single, eight-second burn of its thrusters – and broke a space exploration record.
 
The spacecraft entered into orbit around the asteroid Bennu, and made Bennu the smallest object ever to be orbited by a spacecraft.
