AtomiComedy To Perform Aug. 23 At Posse Lodge

COMMUNITY News:
After boffo shows at Los Alamos Little Theatre and Muy Salsas, AtomiComedy, Los Alamos’ home-grown comedy group, will next perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Posse Lodge, 650 North Mesa Road.
This show will have a fantastic line-up of fan favorites and newcomers from both Los Alamos and Santa Fe, and promises to have a little something for everyone, whether your comedic interests are scatological, philosophical, or cornball.
Show producer and emcee for the evening Emily Stark said, “We’re adding sketches to really expand AtomiComedy’s repertoire. It’s sure to be a good time! I know, at least, I’ll have a good time.”
This show is for ages 18 and older and tickets are $15. Purchase tickets online in advance or at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Friendly and talented folks from the Bathtub Row Brewery will be onsite to provide libations! For a fee!

The line-up for AtomiComedy’s  Aug. 23 show:
John Gustafson, a retiree who decided to exercise his funny bone before it becomes brittle with age and breaks.
Larissa Breen, a single millennial female attorney with too many animals, which means she’s never at a loss for material. She’s brand new to standup, but looks forward to using observational humor and storytelling to connect with audiences who like their truths with a chaser of humor.
Dave Zimmermann, who has been doing comedy for about three and a half years. He’s done lots of shows in Santa Fe, including last year’s Cloudtop Comedy Festival. Zimmermann founded AtomiComedy and produced previous shows at Muy Salsas and Los Alamos Little Theatre.
John Parchman, a first time performer with AtomiComedy, was too busy helping Emily produce the show and/or looking for his beer — oops, that should be looking for a beer vendor — to write his own bio. If you are able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage at the show, you should shake Parchman’s hand (but not the one holding the cup!).
Mary Claire Potts is an experienced improviser and a new addition to the New Mexico stand-up scene. She loves wearing dresses to Applebee’s, won’t play disc golf to make boys like her, and believes Jersey Shore is an objectively better cinematic experience than The Godfather.
TJ Jones is a member of Wayward Comedy, Santa Fe’s best and only comedy troupe, and has been telling jokes since 2019. In 2023, he was nominated as one of the best comics in Santa Fe by the SF Reporter. A little on the dark side, his jokes deal with addiction and recovery, getting old, and his surprise at still having a love life.

Sarah Matthes uses her voice to explore gender, genitalia, fear of parenthood, and dating as only a woke white woman with one of the most common names of the 20th century could. The highlight of her comedy career came when an audience member asked her to come to Tulsa, Okla., and do comedy for a sex education course, which is telling both of her comedy and her paltry standards of success.

Seona Zimmermann, Alex DiBranco, and Stacy Buck will perform sketches that have been written by Patrick Webb and Emily Stark.
