Atomic Man Duathlon Road Closures In White Rock Sunday

Atomic Man Duathlon – a race in the format of run/bike/run – begins at 7:30 a.m. this Sunday, Sept. 18. The race starts and finishes at Pinon Elementary School in White Rock.

The road between Pinon Elementary School and Sherwood Boulevard will be closed during the event. The road closure begins around 7 a.m. and there will be volunteers at Sierra Vista Drive, Balboa Drive and Alhambra Drive to help residents navigate in and out of their respective neighborhoods while the race is occurring.

Traffic will still flow on Grand Canyon Drive., N.M. 4 and both Piedra Loop and La Senda Road in Pajarito Acres, but please use caution when driving and be respectful of the racers.

The bike course of the duathlon will take racers out and back on N.M. 4, so please use caution when driving, and be careful passing the cyclists.

Los Alamos Police will be positioned at the intersection of Grand Canyon and N.M. 4 to help with major traffic control.

The race is expected to end around 11:30 a.m., and all traffic should return to normal at about that time.

Thank you for your help in allowing this race to run safely!
