Atomic City Children’s Theater Opens Auditions For Disney Peter Pan Jr. 2-4 p.m. Wednesday

Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT), the Los Alamos Public Schools’ award winning after-school theater program, is excited to announce auditions for their elementary school production of Disney Peter Pan Jr., a two-act musical based on the Disney film and J.M. Barrie’s enchanting Broadway play.

Co-Director Daren Savage noted, “Peter Pan Jr. is a really fun show with some of Disney’s most famous characters including Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook and of course, Tinker Bell and features many memorable Disney songs including, You Can Fly, Never Smile at a Crocodile and of course, Yo Ho, A Pirate’s Life for Me!

Savage continued, “We’re very excited to be partnering with Flying by Foy, who will be providing the flying effects for Peter Pan Jr.”

Auditions are 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31 in the Mountain Elementary School gymnasium. Registration begins at 1 p.m. The auditions are open to all 5th or 6th grade students in the Los Alamos area.

ACCT is also looking for students interested in participating as Student Directors, Student Music Directors, and Student Choreographers for this show. Mid-School and High School students interested in signing up as a Student Leader position should plan to stop by the audition after school.

Co-Directors Daren Savage and Kelsey Cline are proud to lead the ACCT after-school musical theater program into its ninth year.

Two public performances of Disney Peter Pan Jr are scheduled for Nov. 18 and 19 at Smith Auditorium. Admission to all ACCT shows is free.

Atomic City Children’s Theater, an official after-school program sponsored by the Los Alamos Public Schools, offers performing opportunities to elementary and middle school age students and is designed to promote academic excellence through participation in the arts.
